Written Voters' Pamphlet Statement Submitted by Candidate

Across Seattle, people say, what happened with the Monorail? How did things go wrong? Who was in charge? We need change. We need someone on the council who will make sure projects are built on time - and as promised.

Casey Corr will restore accountability. He will work to expand light rail to Northgate and improve bus service in every neighborhood.

Casey gets results. He led the city's efforts to secure $2 billion to replace the Viaduct.

On other issues:

  • Casey has put forward a comprehensive plan to end the crisis in our schools and help all our children succeed in school.
  • Casey will fix sidewalks and build new ones so children and seniors can walk safely in our neighborhoods.
  • Casey will get more police to patrol our neighborhoods. Seattle has fewer police than it did 12 years ago.
  • Casey will make sure we create economic opportunity in all of Seattle neighborhoods. He will strengthen our commitment to affordable housing, neighborhood services, the environment and helping the needy.

Casey has a passion for Seattle. He and his wife, Sally Tonkin, are raising their children in Seattle. As a journalist, he rallied Seattle to support community centers, libraries, improved maintenance of city parks, and transportation. He led work in the mayor's office to win voter approval of levies that will provide 2,000 units of affordable housing for families; improve our preparedness by rebuilding the city's fire stations; and double assistance for needy children and their families.

Casey's support comes from every neighborhood and from people who are active in labor, environmental, community, ethnic, neighborhood and business organizations.

Please join them in supporting Casey Corr - the change we need.
